Hand-Hewn

Hand-Hewn Timbers

Trestlewood's Hand Hewn Timbers are salvaged from a variety of hand-built structures (barns, mills, elevators) that were often the first structures built in a region. Each timber is one-of-a-kind, with unique characteristics from its prior use (pockets, wear, texture, etc.) and from weathering. Whether you need timbers for trusses or a frame or a single rustic mantel, Hand Hewn timbers deliver a rugged authenticity that simply cannot be matched.

Trailblazer Weathered

Trailblazer Weathered Timbers

Trailblazer Weathered Timbers are one of Trestlewood's more rustic weathered timber products. They have similar characteristics to hand-hewn timbers but without the hew marks. Trailblazer Weathered Timbers are generally reclaimed from vintage barns and other agricultural structures. They are mixed species and typically have a wide range of colors and other characteristics (including pockets and notches from original joinery.)

Rustic Fir

Rustic Fir Timbers

Trestlewood's Rustic Fir Timbers are generally resawn from nature-damaged (fire, insect, etc.) logs, from by-products of sawmill, logging or other wood-processing operations or from new logs/lumber. Often the logs from which these timbers are cut are standing dead and are more stable than timbers cut from green logs.
